Study Abroad

Students interested in getting a global or comparative perspective on politics may be interested in international student exchange programs. These are usually undertaken in a student’s third year, but it may be possible to do an exchange at other times. It’s always a good idea to consult with the Undergraduate Advisor and/or Honours Coordinator before you sign up for an exchange program—to make sure that your plans for study abroad will fit into your academic program requirements.

The university maintains an International Learning Experiences page, which provides info about different options for study abroad, including details about eligibility, application processes, deadlines, etc.

The Political Science department also has a relationship with the UIBE China Exchange Program. In May 1997, the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) was put on the list of “Project 211” universities, a governmental program aimed at turning 100 Chinese universities into high quality academic institutions in the new century. Since then, UIBE has become a first-class multi-disciplinary comprehensive university in the fields of economics, finance, management, law, political science, and literature, with a particular emphasis on specializations such as international trade and economic law, business administration, and foreign studies. ʹڲapp Political Science students (both undergraduate and graduate) are able to participate in a semester-long exchange at UIBE, which is situated in the northeast part of China’s capital Beijing.
