To know him is to love him according to the Class of 2017 who honoured Dr. Tarjei Tennessen with a Student Appreciation Award during Convocation celebrations.
Animal Science graduate Hannah Jamieson presented the plaque to Dr. Tennessen and had this to say about the professor of 30 plus years.
"On behalf of the 2017 Faculty of Agriculture class, we would like to award this year's Student's Appreciation Award to Dr. Tarjei Tennessen.
Many students in this room this evening have had the pleasure of having Dr. Tennessen as a professor. For myself, I was fortunate to spend my time in Animal Agriculture and RESM with Dr. Tennessen. However, he also taught a number of other courses including Contemporary Issues in Agriculture and Companion Animal Behaviour.Â
For those of you who did not have Dr. Tennessen as a professor, you truly missed out especially when it came to spontaneous mooing to collect the attention of the class or Dr. Tennessen's timeless jokes that helped relieve the atmosphere of normal classroom tension.
On a more serious note, to all of us in this room, Dr. Tennessen was more than an educator and an advoate for agriculture, he was our supporter, our crutch that helped us in earning our degrees and diplomas.
Congratulations Dr. Tennessen on being this year's receipient of the Student's Appreciation award. The students, along with the entire »Ê¹Ú²©²Êapp Agricultural Campus, will truley miss your presence in the coming years as you enter your retirment. Don't forget all of us as we will surely not forget you."
